New season brings Ipswich Town digital screens

New season brings Ipswich Town digital screens
We are happy to see the start of the new football season as Keith resumes his duties, not only at Norwich FC looking after the Epoch Screen at Carrow Road, but also adding Ipswich Town Football Club's digital screens to the mix.

The new screens are provided by screen giants, adi.tv. Here's a few facts as to what has been installed:

  • A new MTD digiBOARD perimeter solution around the three camera-facing sides of the stadium.

  • A new 33m2 giant screen in the South-East corner of Portman Road.

  • Content created, managed and delivered by ADI’s experienced Studios team.

  • Nationwide broadcast fibre network used to manage the digital content matchday operations within the stadia.

Ipswich Town FC has a fully-managed solution, with technicians onsite for each match. Content will be created by ADI’s Studios team, then managed and delivered direct from ADI’s nationwide broadcast fibre network used to manage the digital content matchday operations for over 30 clubs.

The new screens will hugely enhance the matchday experience for fans at Portman Road, whilst also creating an impressive and co-ordinated stadium-wide digital platform to attract and maximise value from commercial partners.

The MTD digiBOARD is available in a range of height options making it configurable and easily scalable for all stadium types and sightlines. Ipswich have chosen a 640mm system with a 10mm pixel pitch, with 240 linear metres covering all three sides of the broadcast camera arc.

The 33m2 screen also uses the same 10mm resolution of screen and will be located in the South East corner of the stadium. Following a consultative process, ADI visualised the ideal location to maximise viewing angles, before designing and building a bespoke structure complete with integrated walkways which allows for easy access to service and maintain the screen.

Ahead of the recent Bolton Wanderers fixture, a record-breaking 4,848 home supporters entered the FanZone at Portman Road, which included an outdoor LED screen provided by ADI as part of the pre-match entertainment. Home supporters will be pleased to know that the new screen will be a permanent feature within the vibrant FanZone for the 2021/22 campaign, along with a matchday presenter and the introduction of special guests.

We'll be working for adi.tv onsite for each Home match.

Looking forward to a fantastic 2022/23 season with both Norwich City and Ipswich Town FC!
