At Millrose, we've always believed in the power of community and the incredible impact that compassionate and brave individuals can have on the lives of others. That's why we were absolutely delighted to be a part of the Ely Hero Awards 2023, held at the Ely Maltings. This event is a shining beacon that celebrates those who go the extra mile to make our community a better place.
Sponsoring Dazzling Audio-Visual Production
Once again, Millrose proudly sponsored the dazzling Audio-Visual Production at the Ely Hero Awards. The night was a spectacle of sights and sounds, creating an atmosphere of celebration and appreciation that truly touched our hearts.
Championing Community Champions
One of our own, Jo, had the privilege of serving as a judge at this remarkable event for the "Colleague of the Year" category. Jo's role involved interviewing and interacting with some of the most inspirational people in our community. The stories and experiences shared were nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Congratulations to Caroline Wren
A moment of immense pride for us was when Caroline Wren, from Littleport Community Primary School, was announced as the winner of the "Colleague of the Year" award. Caroline's role as an admin in the main office of the school makes her the first face people see every day, and her impact goes far beyond a warm welcome.
The judges had this to say about Caroline: "She handles various responsibilities with efficiency and a positive attitude, ensuring that each day is a great one. Caroline's colleagues admire her kindness, endless patience, and selflessness in prioritising others' needs above her own. She is empathetic, a great listener, and always goes above and beyond to support her colleagues, showing genuine care and compassion. No job is too much for her to help out with."
The Unsung Heroes
Reflecting on all the finalists in the "Colleague of the Year" category, the judges shared, "The great selection of individuals that are valued by their colleagues in a variety of workplaces are always humbling to meet. These very valued people have had a special impact on the lives of their colleagues. They are very respected and admired and, in most cases, have no idea of just how much!"
The Ely Hero Awards 2023 was a poignant reminder that heroes exist in our midst, quietly making a difference in the lives of others. Millrose is proud to be a part of this celebration of community spirit and looks forward to continuing to support and honour those who inspire us with their kindness, dedication, and selflessness.
As we congratulate Caroline Wren and all the incredible finalists, we are reminded that heroism is not defined by capes and superpowers but by the everyday actions of individuals who touch hearts and change lives. Thank you for being our community heroes.
